What to Expect

You will arrive at our predetermined location 1 hour prior to the scheduled flight time. I will brief you on safety and positions, as well as sign an insurance waiver for liability. The balloon flight will last between 45 minutes and 1 hour and beyond depending on the circumstances (ideal landing sites). After landing we will pack the balloon up and head back to the pickup point. You will not be expected, but are more than welcomed, to help with the inflation and tear down of the balloon. It would be best (and we welcome) bringing friends and family to help travel along and enjoy the experience from the ground. Our chase vehicle will follow the balloon from Launch site to landing site; however it is only capable of holding 6 people. (The pilot, crew, and at least the passengers booked for the flight) Seating is tight and limited. Children flying must be over 42 inches in height or 12 years or older accompanied by a responsible adult. (Children able to take orders from the pilot or parent may be considered) As the pictures show, the balloon basket is a cozy 4 ft x 4 ft, we will be in close quarters to one another with propane tanks in the corners of the basket.

What to Wear

Sometimes landing spots are less than ideal, so long pants and a good pair of closed toe shoes are preferred. Other items to consider bringing are jackets, bug spray, extra pair of dry socks (for those dewy mornings or splash and dash maneuvers), camera with straps, batteries, and anything else necessary for your own personal needs. Please wear clothes/shoes that you would not care getting a little dirty. The burner can be warm, especially in the summer, a hat is recommended most of the time.

When we Fly

During most of the Balloon season (April-October) we fly with-in the first 3 hours of sunrise and the last 3 hours of sunset. In the winter time it is possible to fly anytime of the day, however fast winds and inclement weather usually prevent us from doing so. If there are storms or rain in the forecast, the winds are projected to be greater than 6 mph on the surface, or fog is expected we will most likely cancel the flight. I’ve always said I’d rather be on the ground wishing I was in the air, then in the air wishing I was back on the ground.
